M.S. in Mass Communications, Sports Concentration

Oklahoma State University | Stillwater, OK

In August 2024, I began a graduate assistantship supporting the School of Media and Strategic Communications (SMSC) at Oklahoma State University.

As a graduate teaching assistant, I gained knowledge and connections that have kickstarted my professional career in sports communications.

My Assistantship Duties

In Fall 2024, I utilized my podcasting background to consult, edit, and schedule for the Odd Fellows Podcast, an initiative from the Media Ecology and Strategic Analysis (MESA) Group.

I’ve also worked with Dr. Jinger Bernhardt as a teaching assistant in her Mass Media Style and Structure course for undergraduates and an online introductory communications course for high school students.

Another duty of mine was to direct community efforts for Media House, a living and learning program for underclassmen in the School of Media and Strategic Communications. I planned, led and managed events for the students living in Media House.

In Spring 2025, I switched gears and fulfilled a crucial administrative role in the School of Media and Strategic Communications. Considered one of the top graduate assistants in my class, I was given the 2024-25 Distinguished GA award, and it was an honor to be placed in the position of greatest need for the spring semester.
